Wiggles to delight young Mackay fans
THE new-look Wiggles will cruise into Mackay in their Big Red Car in April.
As a part of their Taking Off tour, the group will perform not one but three shows at the MECC on April 13 and 14.
The announcement of The Wiggles coming to town had Indie Goodworth, 3, and Roman Nikolic, 4, practising their best Wiggly moves yesterday.
Three new members Emma, Simon and Lachlan replace original members Greg, Murray and Jeff, who left the group last year.
However, original member and blue Wiggle, Anthony, is still a part of the group.
He said he was excited about touring the country.
"It's such a great way to start the year," he said.
"There's so much energy with these young guys.
"We introduced Simon, Emma and Lachy on the Celebration tour around the world and audiences loved them.
"I'm so excited to be heading out on the road across Australia so that all our Wiggly fans can meet the new team."
But it's not just the Wiggles who'll feature onstage. Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Captain Feathersword and Wags the Dog will also join them, singing their songs Hot Potato, Rock-a-Bye Your Bear and many other favourites.
Audiences will also be the first to hear some new Wiggles material from the first CD and DVD to be released in early 2013, also titled Taking Off
The Wiggles will also perform at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre on April 12.
