Wiggles in town for 25th year
TICKETS have been selling like hotcakes for The Wiggle Town Tour which heads to Ipswich this weekend.
As the Advertiser went to press tickets were still available for the last of four shows the group will stage on Sunday.
The Wiggles are celebrating their 25th birthday this year with a tour taking in more than 100 locations around the country.
Wiggle Town is the name of the new Wiggles CD, DVD, and TV series on the ABC.
The Wiggle Town tour follows on the success of last year’s tour, where The Wiggles performed in every state across Australia and sold out more than 200 shows, playing to more than a quarter of a million fans around the world.
The Wiggle Town Tour will feature the latest Wiggles hits such as Do the Propeller, Emma’s Yellow Bow and Simon Says as well as Wiggle classics Hot Potato, Rock a Bye Your Bear and Fruit Salad. Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus will also feature in the show.
The new line up has proven a huge success, especially since Emma’s own TV series debuted on ABC TV last year, and their popularity is set to grow even more with the announcement a new Lachy TV show.
A recent survey by i-View Omnibus showed that 92% of Australians knew of The Wiggles, 66% of Australian adults have been entertained by The Wiggles in their lifetime, 81% of children aged 1-5 years have been entertained by The Wiggles and 70% of young parents said that The Wiggles were their pre-schoolers favourite entertainers.
The Wiggle Tour Tour comes to the Ipswich Civic Centre on Sunday. Tickets are $30.50. For more information, go to ipswichciviccentre.com.au
