Watch Yolanda's big TV wedding
AS if getting married after five years of dating and two children isn’t enough pressure, Mudjimba’s Yolanda Raft has invited the whole nation to watch her tie-the-knot.
Yolanda was selected from entrants across the country to take part in the popular Channel 7 reality television series Four Weddings where the brides get to vote whose wedding was the best.
She’s had to do a bit of convincing to get her shy fiancé Sam Rangihuna to embrace the concept, but the lure of winning the $25,000 dream honeymoon has definitely helped.
The couple didn’t have much time to prepare themselves for the reality of being on a reality television show.
“I entered on the Friday and on the Tuesday the television producers were at my door,” Yolanda said.
“In the space of a week I was at my first wedding.”
Yesterday the television crews were on the Sunshine Coast filming Yolanda and learning how she and Sam found each other.
“We’ve were engaged two-and-a-half years ago, when my daughter was one,” Yolanda said.
“They will be filming the background story today.”
While Yolanda will reveal a bit of her wedding details on camera, she won’t be letting it slip in front of Sam as to what she’ll be wearing on the special day.
Their wedding date has been set for June 4, on the beach outside Marcoola’s Surfair with the reception inside.
Children, Meilah, three-and-a-half and Hunter-Knox, 17 months, will be the flower girl and page boy.
