Runaway truck blocks railway line in Harristown
A TRUCK has blocked railway lines on Condamine st, Harristown, after rolling forwards down a hill while unsupervised.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 9pm, finding the B-double truck filled with grain trapped over a concrete embankment.
The vehicle had no passengers at the time of the crash and was carrying 40 tonnes of canola seed.
"The truck was parked up the embankment when the driver left and went home. Some time after this, the truck, of its own accord, went backwards onto the railway," Senior Sergeant Greg Wheeler said at the scene.
"The prime mover has dropped over the embankment and the trailer has dug into it, stopping the truck.
"There has been no visible damage to railway line, however Queensland Rail has been notified and there will be disruption to trains using the track."
Services are working to free the vehicle.
