Toowoomba restaurant named one of best in Queensland
TOOWOOMBA is home to one of the top-rated restaurants in Queensland.
The inaugural delicious. 100 list ranked 100 of the state's best eateries, not in terms of "flashy silver service and tome-like drinks lists" but based on deliciousness.
Published in today's Stellar magazine, in the Sunday Mail, the list named Toowoomba's The Office as number 51, according to food writers.
The Office, in Duggan St, is described as a restaurant that could easily slip into the Melbourne or Sydney food scene.
The judges were impressed by chef Shayne Mansfield and his share-style menu that effortlessly blended creativity and modern techniques with comforting classics.
According to the judges the must-eat dish is the manchego and spinach croquettes.
A Stanthorpe restaurant has also made an appearance on the list, coming in at number 89.
The McGregor Terrace Food Project, in McGregor Terrace, is a modern Australian restaurant where the must-eat dish is Wagyu Rump with braised brisket.
According to the judges, it is country hospitality combined with metro flair situated in a French provincial bistro, set in an old general store.
Gold Coast restaurant Rick Shores was named number one.
