The Wiggles cause stir, MECC concert packed to rafters
LITTLE Briella Meikle was over the moon when her parents took her to see The Wiggles at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC).
Dressed in a specially made Dorothy the Dinosaur costume, the two-year-old could not contain her excitement on the drive to the packed show on Thursday.
Her father Grant Meikle said his daughter had been looking forward to the concert for weeks.
"We had the tickets on the fridge and she's been looking and pointing to them for a while,” he said.
"She watches The Wiggles on TV and always comes and gets me from the shed to come and have a dance with her.”
Briella's favourite characters are Dorothy the Dinosaur and Emma, the yellow Wiggle. When Emma came on stage Briella's face lit up.
"She was dancing and doing all the hand movements and having a great time. For the first part of the show she was glued to her mums legs because of all the kids, but she loosened up pretty quickly,” Mr Meikle said.
Mr Meikle said his daughter had loved The Wiggles since she was just one-year-old and was one of hundreds of fans who enjoyed the concert.
"It was actually a really great show. I liked how interactive they were with the kids,” he said.
As for Briella, all of the dancing and excitement was enough for one day. She fell asleep on the drive home.
