FRUSTRATED Mackay region residents want to know why what's happening to their digital television signal.

They're upset by a consistent loss of signal that affects more than one digital TV channel and say images freeze and reception drops out without warning.

Mackay resident Alison McKenna wants answers from networks in regards to the issue.

"It has been happening for about two weeks now where all my channels drop out," she said.

"This is happening at different times. It's not a set time and it is always without warning."

Due to a medical condition Miss McKenna is often up late at night.

"I prefer to sleep during the day so when I'm up late I like to pass time watching TV," she said.

"I contacted ABC in regards to the issue; theytold me about scheduled maintenance between 2am and 5am.

"However, it is happening at different times outside of this period."

The Daily Mercury recently has received SMS messages from several community members experiencing the same issues.

Rose Smith, of Bucasia, agrees there is a problem.

"I am a bit of nightowl and this is happening every night. I lose all channels," she said.

"It is frustrating. You are in the middle of watching something then it cuts out."

The Daily Mercury is awaiting comment on the issue from major networks.
