Hiker hospitalised after Mt Ngungun injury

A HIKER has been hospitalised after they were injured on the popular Mt Ngungun track at Glass House Mountains.

Paramedics and firefighters were called about 10am to retrieve the hiker from the track, a Queensland Fire and Rescue Services spokesman said.

The hiker was treated with a leg injury and was taken to Caloundra Private Hospital, a QAS spokesman said.

They had injured themselves about seven minutes up the track.

The QFES specialist vertical rescue team are on scene, but weren't needed for the rescue.

Two firefighters were sent up the track to work with paramedics on getting the patient out safely so they could be hospitalised.
