LOVE, family and keeping your promises were all messages delivered by Samuel Johnson speaking at the Daily Mercury Club networking event Friday.

The philanthropist, known for portraying Molly Meldrum in the TV mini series and starring in The Secret Life of Us, was recipient of an Order of Australia medal and 2018 Victorian Australian of the Year.

Johnson set up the Love Your Sister charity as a legacy for his sister Connie, who passed away last year due to breast cancer.

The night raised $5000 for Johnson's charity.
