'Perfect' night out for fundraiser winners
THERE was just one word Pauline and Peter Nevell used to describe their weekend in Dalby - "perfect”.
The Nevells won the opportunity a lifetime when, last year, they entered the Breast Night Ever fundraiser, and won a night at Luke and Cody Cook's house, featured on the reality TV show House Rules. Mrs Nevell, who was born in Dalby and raised in Cecil Plains, said the night was a chance to catch up on old memories of the region she knew as a child.
With Cody unfortunately away for the celebrations, the Nevells were treated to a night of good food and entertainment by Luke.
"The highlight of the night was meeting Luke and his family and his girlfriend,” Mrs Nevell said.
"It was one of those beautiful nights where they were so generous and it all started for a really good cause.
"They were so generous with all their time and all the goodies they had there.”
To meet Luke in person after watching him on House Rules years ago was a surreal experience to the Nevells.
"We felt like we knew them,” Mrs Nevell said.
"Luke is very easy to talk to and natural. He felt like an old mate.”
"He puts you at ease straight away,” Mr Nevell said.
Mr and Mrs Nevell finished their weekend in Dalby with a day at the Opera at Jimbour.
