Our songbird serenades viewers with a Bowie classic
SALLY Skelton has left The Voice on a high.
While viewers may not have voted our Maroochydore songbird through to the final, she has been praised for her captivating rendition of David Bowie's Life on Mars.
In tonight's live semi-final, nine contestants were competing for just four spots in next Sunday's grand final.
During her mentoring session with coach Joe Jonas earlier this week, Ms Skelton got to meet his brother and former band mate Nick who sat in to give some extra advice.
The 19-year-old told the Daily she hoped to be the second regional Queenslander to win the show's title, after Laidley's Judah Kelly took out the competition last year under Delta Goodrem's guidance.
"Obviously I would love to bring the crown back to the Coast," she said.
"Just to make it to the grand final would be a massive honour. I would love to do that for the Sunny Coast."
Viewers were full of praise for her performance:
Good job Sally. Not sure anyone else in the comp would have handled that. #TheVoiceAU

Ms Skelton, who was eliminated in the show's battle round last year, is already planning for the future.
"You don't know the outcome each week, so it would be silly not to think about what I want to do when I get home," she said.
"I have a lot of songs written. If I get signed or not, my focus is on getting those out there and maybe doing a tour in December.
"Last year I didn't use it properly. I got disappointed in myself, which was a mistake. My focus this year was no matter what stage I exit to use all the exposure I gained whilst being on the show."
Looper Sam Perry, The Voice Kids alumni Bella Paige, the Gold Coast's Sheldon Riley and Aydan Calafiore will face off in the grand final for a Universal Music recording contract and $100,000 grand prize.
Delta Goodrem is the only coach who doesn't have a singer in the grand final, while Kelly Rowland will be pulling double duty mentoring two singers for their final Voice performances.
The Voice grand final airs next Sunday at 7pm on Channel 9.
