New stage curtains add plenty of colour

THE Dalby Civic Theatre received a face-lift this week as they installed new valance and stage curtains courtesy of the Western Downs Regional Council.

Their previous curtains, which had stood the test of time for the better part of 28 years, began to show too many signs of wear and tear prompting theatre manager Michael Pace to have them replaced.

"We would like to thank the council for doing the new curtains, the old curtains were starting to get to the point where they were sagging too much,” he said.

"Because of that, we informed the council and put in a request to have them changed.

"They placed it on their to-do list and acted quickly in ensuring the new curtains were put up, so for that we are very appreciative.”

Mr Pace also encouraged Dalby residents to head down and enjoy everything the Dalby Civic Theatre has to offer.

"We pride ourselves on our technical presentation and we are definitely up to standard compared to cinemas in the bigger cities,” he said.

"These new valance and stage curtains will give the theatre a significant lift, and hopefully they too can last for 28 years.”

With three movies showing this weekend, Mr Pace noted that it would be a great opportunity for locals to get a glimpse of the theatre's added character and colour.
