Kids splash out at park romp
CALEB and Gracelyn Bakss let the paint do the talking yesterday when they paraded around the Botanic Gardens.
Their Lighthouse Christian School hats shadowed parts of their face, but you could still see the black patch around Caleb's eye and the whiskers sprouting from Gracelyn's nose.
They were among the festivities, the colours and the crazy characters at CQU Romp in the Park: a family fun-day for parents and their children under eight.
A hot topic was The Wiggles, with news that the four-piece children's entertainment group is set for a major overhaul with a big line-up change.
Hundreds of children from Rockhampton primary schools and ECE centres swarmed the Botanic Gardens to take part in all kinds of activities, from story-telling to face painting.
The day was coordinated by 12 CQUniversity early childhood education students in their final year, and a lecturer.
Professor Gillian Busch said aside from the parents and children, it was good to see many local community organisations supporting the event.
