It's time to take this rest issue seriously
MICHAEL Musumeci thinks there needs to be a dramatic shift in the way our Australian driving community thinks.
"From the top down and until people are actually serious about saving lives, then nothing will change,” he said.
He was responding to a post on the Big Rigs social media page in which truckie Ken Skates said more rest areas were needed for truckies.
Truckies seconded Ken's gripe and demanded more rest stops with more amenities such as more shade and more toilets.
Some even said more stops were needed in Australian cities.
Robert McDonald said there was nowhere to go when trucks were unloaded.
"It shouldn't be up to the service stations to give us somewhere to have our breaks,” he said.
