How you can rub shoulders with inspiring stars
AFTER meeting champion surfer Layne Beachley last year, Mackay McDonald's franchise owner Nikki Ramsey is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with television personality Kerri-Anne Kennerley when she visits as a Daily Mercury Club guest speaker in November.
"(Kerri-Anne) is a long-time Aussie celebrity who has been in the media forever," Mrs Ramsey said. "Knowing her history and getting to hear how she achieved what she has will be great."
Mrs Ramsey has been involved in the Daily Mercury Club, which offers business owners a variety of advertising, networking and entertainment opportunities, since it hosted an event with Beachley in June last year.
Daily Mercury Club membership includes generous advertising packages offered to members, which aims to help develop local businesses and grow their advertising reach.
"It's a good way to get our business out there and showcase it to all generations," Mrs Ramsey said.
"I have noticed it through people's word of mouth from people reading the paper, they will say that they saw the ads."
Mrs Ramsey said the opportunity to build professional relationships with other local businesses could only help the Mackay economy and would ensure money stayed in our region instead of being spent in Brisbane or online.
