Faulty power supply caused signal loss

TELEVISION viewers in Mackay had limited options on Tuesday night after the WIN Television network lost signal because of a faulty UPS power supply.

According to a WIN spokeswoman, the signal was lost to Mackay audiences from about 7-8.45pm.

"Usually this (emergency power failure) would happen in an electrical storm," she said.

"We think the storm on Sunday probably damaged the equipment," she said.

The power supply then failed on Tuesday night, cutting the signal to all WIN Television channels.
