WE'VE all wanted to run away with the circus but for Brazilian performer, Nino, the circus was already home.

The 26-year-old full-time circus entertainer has been performing to crowds all over the world since he was 14 years old and is a sixth generation circus performer.

Nino, the funny-faced ring clown of The Great Moscow Circus, said being a clown was in his blood.

"I was born into the circus," he said.

"I'm a fifth generation clown and my father is still performing back home, he's the oldest performer in Brazil. With the Moscow Circus I'm the clown, the MC and for some shows I'm a stunt rider in the globe of death.

"For me, living in the circus is natural. If you do a job you love, you don't work a day in your life."

As a clown, Nino spends his days making people laugh and smile, but when he puts on his helmet and gets in the globe of death, he makes people watch in awe.

The death-defying Globe of Death features six motorbike riders in a metal globe that has been brought over from Brazil. In 2011, Nino was part of the riding team that broke the Guinness World Record for having six riders and one person in the centre of the globe at the same time.

The Great Moscow Circus company administrator Mark Edgley said the Globe of Death was one of the new and exciting features of the circus.

"Every time we bring the circus to Australia it's a brand new show and it's probably the best show we've produced as we've got the traditional circus performances but we've also got the Globe of Death," he said.

"This is the 50th anniversary this year that we've brought the circus to Australia. My grandfather started the show back in 1965 and my dad it still around cracking the whip too, so I'm the third generation and I love it.

"People love walking away with a smile on their face. That's what I like the most because that's what the circus is all about; being happy, having fun and being amazed."
