MOVIE REVIEW: Bellas raise their pitch with sequel
PITCH PERFECT 2

IF THE first Pitch Perfect hit all the rights notes in a movie for you, I have great news.
The sequel is going to be even better.
Yes, the Barden Bellas and their a capellas definitely are in tune with thousands of fans worldwide.
The first film, which cost only $17million to produce, was a surprise smash hit, grossing $113million worldwide.
The mix of music, comedy and Australian actress Rebel Wilson obviously struck a chord.
And this chord is perfectly in tune in the sequel, with a new storyline but the same faces we grew to love in the first film.
The film starts with the Bellas performing in front of US President Barack Obama when Fat Amy (Wilson) has a disastrous (and hilarious) wardrobe malfunction.
The girls have to prove themselves all over again and this time it's not American audiences they need to win over but a world-wide one.
And taking on the German group Das Sound Machine, will take a whole new level of pitchiness.
As in the first film, it's the musical ensembles that make this film more than just another comedy.
Fat Amy's love song to Bumper also takes it to a new level.
I watched the first film after watching the sequel and I must say I thought the sequel was better.
It's not a great, memorable flick. But when it comes to light, enjoyable flicks, this one is a winner.
